Asian Women's Championship: Four teams fight for three tickets to Germany

Semi-finals at Asian qualification tournament in South Korea confirmed – Medal matches on Wednesday

The group phase is concluded, the semi-finals of the 2017 Asian Women’s Championship are confirmed. On Monday, host South Korea will lock with horns Kazakhstan for a spot in the final, before Japan and China duel in the second semi-final. Both finalists and the bronze medalists, who will be confirmed on Wednesday (22 March) will clinch their berth for the Women’s World Champions in Germany (1 – 17 December 2017).

South Korean and Japan had won their respective preliminary round groups by three wins each to keep their clean record, while Kazakhstan and China finished second in the Suwon Gymnasium in Suwon.

Asian have three spots for Germany 2017 – as well as Pan America. And the Pan American Team Handball Federation (PATHF) just have announced that the venue for their qualification tournament will be changed from Canada for Argentina. The tournament is the last one prior to the draw event for Germany 2017 on 27 June 2017 in Hamburg.

Those teams have already qualified for the Women’s World Championship 2017:

Germany (host), Norway (defending champions), Angola, Tunisia, Cameroon (Africa), Netherlands, France, Denmark (Europe).
