The next three participants for the 2017 Women’s Handball World Championship in Germany are confirmed: After host Germany and defending champion Norway, now Angola, Tunisia and Cameroon qualified for the event, which will be staged from 1 to 17 December 2017.
Partly the decision at the African Championship in Angolan capital Luanda was taken off the court by legal instances: After sensationally eliminating defending African champion Tunisia in the semi-final 26:20, Senegal was excluded from the tournament as one player was not eligible to play.
Thus, and after their successful protest, Tunisia replaced Senegal in the final, but clearly were defeated by the host 17:37. It was the 12th African trophy for the Angolan women. Due to the exclusion of Senegal, Cameroon took the bronze medal and the ticket to Germany without playing the bronze medal match.
